Janet Hill is the Vice President of Alexander & Associates, Inc., a corporate consulting firm in Washington, D.C.  She provides corporate planning, advice and analyses to corporations in the areas of human resource planning, corporate responsibility, corporate communications and government consultation.

Hill was the Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. Prior to her work for the Army, she was a scientist with a private consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area. She was responsible for data analysis regarding ambient noise levels, ship design, and environmental assessment. She has also taught mathematics at the high school and collegiate levels.

Hill is a member of the Boards of Directors of Sprint Nextel, Inc.; Wendy’s International, Inc.; and Dean Foods, Inc.  She is also a member of the board of McDonald Dental Laboratory in New Orleans.

Hill is a board member for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and the Durham Literacy Council. She is a former chairwoman of the Women’s Campaign Fund, the only bipartisan national PAC raising money for women running for federal, state and local offices.

Hill was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 23, 1947.  She attended Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1969.  She holds an M.A. in mathematics from the University of Chicago.

Hill is married to Calvin Hill, an independent consultant to the Dallas Cowboys.  He is a 14 year veteran of the NFL and played football for Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in History. The Hills reside in Great Falls, Virginia, and are the parents of one son, Grant, who is a professional athlete with the Orlando Magic of the NBA.
