Leonard J. Elmore

Len Elmore is currently Senior Counsel for LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP. Previously, he served as the President of Pivot Productions, Inc. a New York-based media and advertising company. He also has completed his sixth consecutive year as a college basketball analyst for ESPN.
Elmore also served as President and CEO of Test University (TestU), a leading provider of web-based, customized curriculum, student assessment and standardized test preparation solutions for middle and high school students.
In 1992, Elmore founded Precept Sports & Entertainment, Inc., a sports management and marketing company. As the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer from 1992-96 he represented numerous National Basketball Association (NBA) first round draft picks, National Football League players and several Olympic athletes.
From 1985 to 1991 and prior to representing athletes with Precept, Mr. Elmore was a network television analyst for CBS, ESPN and JP Sports for NBA and NCAA basketball telecasts.
A noted authority on sports and sports law issues, Elmore has had numerous articles published on a variety of sports issues. He is also the host of the award-winning UMTV cable television issues talk show, “The Global Village” and has appeared on numerous radio and television news and sports talk shows, including ESPN’s “The Sports Reporters.”
Elmore was an All-American basketball player at the University of Maryland, 1971-74, and a first round draft pick in both the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the NBA where he played professional basketball for ten years.
He served as an Assistant District Attorney for Kings County (Brooklyn) N.Y., from 1987 to 1990, where he managed and tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases, including police misconduct. He subsequently entered private practice, specializing in criminal and civil litigation.
Elmore received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1987. He is admitted to practice law in New York and the U.S. District Court of Maryland. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Elmore was a member of the Tourism Development Board for the State of Maryland where he represented the sports and entertainment industries.
Elmore serves as a director on the Board of 1 800 Flowers.com, the leading online and telephonic gift and flower retailer and a NASDAQ traded company. He also serves on several non-profit boards including the University of Maryland at College Park Board of Trustees, where he is Marketing Committee Chair. He also serves on the boards of The Sports Lawyers Association and The NBA Retired Players Association.
