Legendary Kansas State Football Coach Bill Snyder echoed many of the concerns expressed in the Knight Commission’s 2010 report about the direction of major college sports. The Associated Press reports that Snyder said universities have “sold out” for money. Snyder’s concerns include the lengthening of the season and the number of games and said “it’s no longer about education.”
The Knight Commission’s 2010 report, Restoring the Balance, called for a reduction in the length of seasons and number of events and for greater emphasis on educational outcomes.
