David L. Foster

David Foster is an attorney bringing years of experience working with professional athletes, agents, and a professional league. David currently leads efforts for several organizations in their sports business efforts. He is General Partner and General Counsel to TFO Equity, and serves as President of St. James Advisory Group, which provides strategic guidance to athletes, agents, and leaders within the sports world. David is Of Counsel at Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs.

As Deputy General Counsel for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) for almost 10 years, David was heavily involved in the last two collective bargaining negotiations between the NBPA and the National Basketball Association. David’s career includes a decade as a prosecutor with Assistant District Attorney assignments in Queens County, New York, and for the District of New Jersey.

David graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and then went on to receive his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.  In 2019, David received a Sports Business Journal 40 under 40 award.  David is a member of Board of Directors for the non-profit Read Alliance, serves as an advisor for the Fordham Sports Law Forum and Sports Solidarity.
