Media Advisory: Knight Commission Announces C.A.R.E. Model Grant Recipients and C.A.R.E. Champion Conferences

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at The Hamilton Hotel in Washington, DC, the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics will hold a press conference to announce the inaugural recipients of its C.A.R.E. Model Conference Grants.

The selected conferences have committed to following the C.A.R.E. Model principles that bolster financial accountability and ensure that both the distribution criteria and spending of shared athletics revenue are focused on college athletes’ education, health, safety, well-being, equity, and opportunity.

Two conferences will receive the “C.A.R.E. Champion” distinction, which is awarded for fully implementing the C.A.R.E. Model principles.

Commissioners of the Division I Conferences receiving C.A.R.E. Model Conference Grants will participate in the press conference.
